Rooms and availability
Hotel was in a stunning location overlooking the Loch. Hotel receptionist was excellent (she also helped out in the restuarant).
It is too far away from any other form of life - if you want absolute isolation, then this is your spot. Food was okay, but a bit pricey. Hotel is looking a little tired. Main complaint was noise from adjoining rooms - walls were paper thin.
The Restaurant was very good, the view from the deck was amazing!
The matress was awful... and the room was really out of date..
A lovely hotel in a picturesque lochside setting. Wonderful views and friendly staff who try very hard to ensure guests enjoy their stay. The rooms have been updated and are modern, clean and warm. Good value for money as well.
The food was good and the menu quite varied
I thought the views of Loch Lochy were fabulous and the food was delicious!
I felt that the drinks were overpriced, £4.50 a pint put my family off drinking in the bar!
The location was perfect and the views from the deck and dining room over the loch were superb. The food was excellent especially the dinner menu which provided a great choice from gourmet meals to more standard dishes. We found the hotel a great place to relax after a days sightseeing.
There was no individual heating control in the room and consequently the room was always very warm. The bedroom would benefit from double glazing to reduce the noise of passing traffic (we were at the front of the hotel).
The Loch side location is stunning. Bedrooms were comfortable (although the one we stayed in a little cramped and I didnt think it was of a superior quality - as booked). Bathroom could benefit from an upgrade. However the staff were very helpful indeed and the overall experience of our stay in this hotel was a very pleasant one.
When I booked this hotel on the booking dot com website, it in fact came up as a Spa hotel. (I ticked this in the search option). However this hotel has no spa/pool facilities - and I was somewhat disappointed when I arrived to find this. However - as it stands I would recommend this hotel to couples/families/singles as a good stop off location - it does have a lovely setting near the loch and the current chef seems to know what he is doing - the food was very good indeed. This hotel doesnt have wifi or telephone access for guests, but some people may like that. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The warmth, professionalism and enthusiasm of the staff and management.
Location for getting out and about to see some lovely scenery
The dining experience was trying to be more than what it actually provided. You had to wait for a table when there were tables available which which I think was down to the fact they could only cope with a limited number at any one time.
A comfortable bed after a hard day's walking.
Breakfast was rather late starting at 8 am and kitchen was closed to food orders at 8.45pm
The staff were very helpful and the location was spectacular. We had a comfortable room.
Unfortunately, my brother and his wife who were on holiday with us were located in the house and their room was very small. It was difficult having such a disparity between our room and theirs, when we were both paying the same.
The location and scenery were absolutely stunning. The food was very good and cooked just to our liking. Will definitely go back.
Staff were nice but a bit young and lacking confidence
The comfortable atmosphere created by the hotel layout. Bar and lounge areas together with a spectacular patio overlooking the loch.
Perfect setting on Loch Lochy, on lochside with amazing scenery.
First complaint being there was no reservation from Booked.net for us. Luckily there were extra rooms available although they had no trace of our booking through yourselves!! I checked with them to see if our reservation for July had come through which it had..... Only complaint with the room was that there is no tv reception and although this is not a big problem it does help people to unwind in the latter part of the evening....dvds also available from reception.
The staff were excellent and extremely helpful. The surroundings were spectacular.
The only thing we didn't like about the hotel was the fact that the bedside lights had only one switch which meant that both lights had to be on. This would not be a problem but with one person reading at night, it meant having to get out of bed to switch off the light. The room was a little small for the large furniture in it.
